The typical application of the turbi::lyser™ in waste water treatment plants is final effluent monitoring. The parameter turbidity measured nephelometric is used and approved widely for online evaluation of the overall treatment performance with respect to removal of solids.
The removal of non-dissolved substances is often the most important goal of drinking water treatment, also because the consumer uses turbidity as criterium to judge the drinking water quality. Therefore, the turbi::lyser™ is used by drinking water utilities in many places for monitoring turbidity down to the lowest concentration levels. Turbidity is also a key parameter in quality monitoring for the finished water and the natural waters used as source for drinking water production, as well as for waters used for other purposes such as energy production or cooling. In natural waters the turbidity is a parameter that allows the early detection of circumstances that will prohibit economical usage as well as of conditions that will damage the ecosystem.
The turbi::lyser™ is and optical multi-parameter probe that measures turbidity and temperature in the water passed through a sample chamber. Using the principle of nephelometry for measuring turbidity smallest concentrations of particles suspended in the water can be monitored. As the sample chamber is designed to remove possible bubbles the turbi::lyser™ detects the particles accurately.
